The 34th running of the marquee British Columbia Historic Motor Races (BCHMR), hosted by the Speed-Fanatics Motorsport Club, will be held May 13-14 on the SFMC’s Motorsport Circuit at Mission Raceway Park in Mission, B.C.
A premier Western Canada vintage race weekend run by the Vintage Racing Club of British Columbia (VRCBC), BCHMR history dates back to the inaugural 1981 event held at the famous Westwood track in Coquitlam. After several years, it was moved to its current home at the multi-purpose racing complex in Mission.
The BCHMR is the largest vintage race event in Western Canada and a significant one in the Pacific Northwest, typically attracting 100 vintage and historic racing cars and several thousand spectators.
For 2023, the BCHMR plans to again feature three race groups—open-wheel racing cars by themselves with two race groups (“fast” and “faster”) for vintage sedans and sports cars. The two closed-wheel groups will compete in a Sunday finale with both groups combined.
A static car display will be held in a special spectator area known as “The Field of Dreams”, lined by a variety of sponsor booths offering everything from automobilia and artwork to hardcore automotive product. The food concessions, informative track side commentary and excellent grandstand viewing, make this a fun family weekend.
