Given a growing demand to open up eligibility to later-model cars, the Masters Sports Car Legends Series will now accept sports cars and competition GT cars manufactured up to the end of 1976 into its six-event UK and European schedule.
The Sports Car Legends series has been a driving force in Masters Historic Racing since 2005, and these updates will serve to attract new cars onto the grids and new faces into the Masters paddock.
With extended eligibility to 1976, MHR hopes to attract later sports prototypes such as the Gulf Mirage or March 75s, as well as some later-model GT cars, such as the Porsche 934.
Meanwhile, The 2023 regulations bring with them a new De Cadenet Class for two-seater racing cars with DFV (or other) engines of 3.0-liter displacement as well as extension in years for the existing Stommelen and Pescarolo classes.
Tires will remain Avon or Dunlop treaded through all classes.

Traditionally, Masters Sports Car Legends series weekends have featured a single 60 minute race. For 2023, MHR will be trialling events with a pair of 40-minute races, both with a required pit stop. See the 2023 Masters Event Guide (click HERE) for details of the track time available at each event this year.
