After an unseasonably warm fall, temperatures plummeted just in time for it to feel like Thanksgiving at the annual VRG Turkey Bowl last weekend. Summit Point Motorsports Park was the familiar setting for the final race of the VRG season, giving racers another on-track opportunity just before the holiday season.

Pennsylvania-based writer and photographer Bill Stoler was there to take in the sights amongst the beautiful fall light. More than 110 entries filled the paddock with a diverse group of drivers and cars. Additionally, a chili cook-off contest Saturday night gave participants a chance to mingle and connect before the winter off-season. For participants, a weekend with loads of track time and spirited racing was the ideal way to end the 2022 season.

Krisjan Berzins has been racing for 15 years and finally captured his first race victory – the Vintage Festival Race for Groups 1 & 3 in his beautiful 1987 BMW M3 DTM tribute car.

Paul Wilson brought his beautifully restored 1965 Lola T70 and was honored during Saturday’s dinner. Paul plans to retire from racing after the 2022 season.

Always competitive racing amongst the FF/FV contingent and this weekend was no exception.
