Next year, 2023, will mark the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the MG Car Company in Abingdon-on-Thames, England, and the Simeone Museum will be honoring this legendary marque with a “Best of Britain” exhibit devoted exclusively to the Morris Garage sports cars. Curators at the Philadelphia, Pa.-based museum are hoping to have over two dozen examples in the show, including both pre- and post-war models.
The show will run for two weeks, February 11-26.
In search of the very best MGs extant, museum staffers are asking MG enthusiasts from all around the globe for nominations of models they think would be most appropriate.
“Please send us your submissions using the form found HERE and include the year and model MG, owners name and contact information, along with a photo or two representing the car,” explains a Simeone Museum press release. “Also include any details on the history of the car you think are especially interesting.”
Only one example of each MG model can be displayed, so not all nominations will be accepted. Following on the late founder Dr. Simeone’s philosophy, extra consideration will be given to original “ preservation” cars.
The nominating committee will be reviewing the submissions in December and will make its selections before Christmas.
“We hope you can be part of this fantastic show!”
