VSCCA Fall Finale—a prewar celebration at Lime Rock

By

This weekend, the Vintage Sports Car Club of America (VSCCA) will once again close out its season at Lime Rock Park with a Fall Finale event placing a special focus on prewar cars.

Indeed, those who paid the regular entry fee for a postwar car would have the entry fee for a prewar car waived.

All prewar machines entered have a shot at the Victory Lane Pre-War Cup.

On Friday, Sept. 30, the club kicks-off what they trust will become a new tradition—”The Commonwealth vs. The Rest of the World”—with a 25m session for each group. The winning team, as defined by most aggregate laps completed divided by number of starters, will be awarded the inaugural Litchfield Cup.

On Saturday, there will be three 20m sessions for Preservation, back again after a few years in hibernation.

The Boy Scouts will be camped this weekend on the Lime Rock grounds, and it’s always fun to have them tour the paddock. All participants, meanwhile, are invited to a Friday evening Happy Hour on Friday under the timing tower.

“This is always a great time of year to spend a couple of days at Lime Rock,” says Event Chair Whit Smith on the VSCCA web site. “Join us!”
