The Masters Historic Racing “USA-Canada Road Trip” will kick off at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (formerly Mosport) for the IMSA SportsCar Grand Prix, July 1-3, then head four hours south across the border to Watkins Glen International, July 7-10.
It will be MHR’s first visit to the legendary 2.459-mile Canadian road course since 2017. The truly historic circuit, located only an hour from Toronto and 20min from Lake Ontario, is a bucket list circuit for drivers and fans. Canada’s oldest, most revered track, CTMP has over the years hosted big names like Formula 1 champions Moss, Lauda, Brabham, Clark, Stewart and Hunt and Indy 500 winners Ward, Foyt, Al Unser, Bobby Unser, Castroneves, and Montoya.
IMSA’s WeatherTech SportsCar Championship takes top billing for the July 1-3 weekend with three Masters series—Legends (featuring historic F1 cars) , Formula Atlantic Plus and Endurance Legends USA—featuring in support.
Then it’s on to Watkins Glen International for the Masters Historic Race Weekend, July 7-10. Minutes away from the famous Lake Seneca, surrounded by waterfalls and mountains, the weekend’s added bonus is the Finger Lakes Wine Festival.
Watkins Glen’s road racing history dates back to 1948, and it was long-time host of the Formula 1 USGP. The Masters Historic Race Weekend also will showcase all three Masters USA series, Endurance Legends USA, Racing Legends USA (F1)) and FAtl Plus.
