Worldwide Auctions e-mailed a huge “thank you” to all who joined in, in-person or virtually, to make its April 19-22 The Enthusiast Auction and Tour—the second annual springtime event at its Auburn, Indiana, home base—such a resounding success.
At the Enthusiast Auction, 90 percent of consignments found new homes, from a choice offering of fine pre-war automobiles, select muscle cars, sports cars and classics to an exceptional collection of memorabilia. Among the four-wheel highlights were several outstanding motorcars from The Bill Sipko Estate Collection, a great selection of carefully curated cars acquired over a lifetime by an archetypal classic car enthusiast, including an 1955 Jaguar XK140 Roadster and a rare 1952 Muntz Jet.
Other notable machines were a highly optioned 1989 Porsche 930 Turbo Slantnose Coupe, an exceedingly rare 1933 Chrysler Imperial CL Close Coupled Sedan, an iconic 1941 Lincoln Continental Coupe owned by Hollywood legend Rita Hayworth and a 1936 Auburn 852 SC Boattail Speedster.
The second annual Enthusiast Tour, meanwhile, was another one-of-a-kind, three-day classic car tour tailored to the Midwest, that took in multiple invitation-only private collections and special automotive and dining stops in Indiana, before rolling right back into Auburn for The Enthusiast Auction itself.
Next stop for the Worldwide team is the flagship Auburn Auction, to be staged as a massively expanded and reimagined three-day automotive lifestyle event Sept. 1-3 showcasing world class cars and collections, open to spectators and the wider community.
