Donald “David” Lipsky, 80, of Sonoma, California, passed away Sept. 2, 2021 in Denver, Colorado, after a recent diagnosis and complications related to Pancreatic Cancer.

Dave was born to Donald Alexander and Elizabeth (Adamson) Lipsky in San Francisco, California, on September 11, 1940 and was raised in the SF Bay area. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s College High School and attended Contra Costa Junior College.

Dave married Diane (Archuleta) in 1962 and children Liz, Lisa and Grant soon followed.

Dave worked for the Gallo family Winery where he quickly moved up the ranks for the next 25 years. He managed Mountain Wine Distributing, in Denver, for 20+ of those years.

After his tenure with Gallo, he moved back to the California Wine Country where he eventually opened his flagship location of Wine Country Motor Sports at Sears Point Raceway. WCMS is now a successful business in its 29th year with locations on each coast and in Denver.

His love of auto and vintage car racing took him all over the world. He expanded this legacy to his children and grandchildren. Wine, racing, travel, politics, friendships and family were his passions. He was smart, witty, generous, tough yet unwavering in his devotion to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Diane, daughters Elizabeth O’Malley (John), Lisa Rowe and son Grant (Kelly). He is also survived by his grandsons Stephen Lipsky, JonPaul Rowe, Evan Lipsky and granddaughter Meghan Lipsky; brother Michael and nephew Adam Lipsky.

Services will be held in Colorado on October 16th and in California November 5th. For more details and to RSVP please visit WineCountryMotorsports.com
