Auction specialist Barrett-Jackson is headed to the Lone Star State for the first time, set to host its inaugural Houston Auction, September 16-18, 2021, at the NRG Center. Following up on two record-breaking 2021 auctions, including its most successful Las Vegas Auction ever last June, momentum is growing as the collector car industry turns its eyes toward Texas.
“Our inaugural Houston Auction is shaping up to be one of Barrett-Jackson’s most memorable events,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO. “The car culture runs deep in Texas, which is why we’ve had our hearts set on bringing an event to the state. The pent-up demand for collectible vehicles and the hobby in 2021, combined with the level of excitement we see at our inaugural events, will make this Houston Auction one that enthusiasts around the globe will not want to miss.”

Among the many highlights are several beautifully crafted Chevrolet Resto-Mods, a group led by a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split-Window Custom Coupe completed in March by renowned builder Jeff Hayes. What began as a clean, original GM donor car now features a new LS3 Hot Cam engine with 540hp backed by a 4L70E automatic transmission. Sitting on an Art Morrison sport chassis with front and rear sway bars, this Resto-Mod features a slew of modern conveniences, including power steering, power windows, power hood, AM/FM Bluetooth stereo and Vintage Air heat and air conditioning.
“Resto-Mods continue to drive incredible demand at our auctions,” Jackson explained. “These exceptional examples of 1960s and early ’70s Chevrolets combined with modern technology and comfort makes these customs must-haves for any collection. Not only are they beautiful pieces of art, but they are also built to be driven and enjoyed every day.”

Other early No Reserve consignments include a 2019 Ford GT with under 19 original miles and a 1957 Ford Thunderbird convertible that was one of just 1,499 E-code T-birds produced that year.
Equipped with over $78,000 in factory options, the Ford GT is finished in Liquid Blue paint and accented by the optional Frozen White overtop painted stripes.
The Raven Black Thunderbird convertible, meanwhile, features dual Holley 4-barrel carburetors, 312/270hp V8 engine, aluminum intake manifold, HP camshaft and a 3-speed manual floor-shift transmission.
