Phoenix, AZ — Changes to local Covid-19 protocols have forced cancellation of this year’s eighth annual Gila River Hotels & Casinos’ Concours in the Hills car show benefitting Phoenix Children’s Hospital, organizers announced Monday (Jan. 4). The show will now move to 2022.

Plans for the Feb. 13 show had included an expanded race car display, along with winning cars from several types of racing. Last year’s show featured the 1966 Sebring-winning GT40 driven by Ken Miles; Jacques Villeneuve’s championship-winning March Formula Atlantic; the Paul Newman/Scott Sharp Oldsmobile Trans Am; the Lola T70 Can Am Simoniz Special; the 1982 Eagle Indy car driven by Kevin Kogan; and a 1958 Echidna 58, one of only three built and the 1959 SCCA champion.
The 2020 Scuderia Southwest-produced event raised $262,000 for the hospital’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders to fulfill a five-year pledge of $500,000 in just three years. Car enthusiasts from across the Southwest showcased a record 1,052 collector and exotic vehicles in the Fountain Park of Fountain Hills, Ariz. Check out a photo gallery from the 2020 show
