Champaign, IL — RM Sotheby’s concluded its Online Only: Open Roads, Fall auction (11-20 November) with over $5M in total sales and 89% of all lots finding new homes. Bidders participated in the auction from 34 countries, with 22 percent representing first-time RM clientele. Comprising a total of 77 motor cars and nearly 300 lots of memorabilia, the online auction was led by a 1969 Ferrari 365 GTC by Pininfarina selling at $660,000. The auction saw more than 3800 bids placed on RM Sotheby’s Online Only auction platform with several extensions causing spirited online bidding. Mecum hasn’t released final figures for its Nov. 20-21 Kansas City sale, but the top 10 was dominated by Ford across a diverse range of selections spanning more than 80 years.
