Santa Monica, CA — The highly original 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB Long Nose featured in our preview story for Gooding’s Aug. 3-7 Geared Online auction sold for $3.08 million to set a new record for the most valuable car sold online.

Gooding posted overall sales results of nearly $14.5 million for its inaugural Geared Online auction and achieved a 71% sell-through rate on the total of 77 lots, with five vehicles selling over $1 million. The auction featured a diverse lineup of collector cars, from prewar masterpieces to modern supercars, as well as a carefully curated selection of automobilia, led by the sale of Luigi Chinetti’s North American Racing Team sign for $51,250. A rare 1950s Ferrari factory perpetual calendar reached a final sale price of $17,500.
