Chichester, West Sussex, ENGLAND — After canceling this year’s Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival due to the coronavirus pandemic, Goodwood recently announced the launch of an Oct. 16-18 Goodwood SpeedWeek presented by Mastercard.

Combining favorite elements of the Festival and Revival, the new event will take place without spectators at the Goodwood Motor Circuit with a free broadcast transmitted globally via Goodwood Road & Racing’s website, social media channels and a range of broadcast partners.

In what it’s termed the most venue’s “most ambitious project ever,” Goodwood is promising “innovative” aspects to the broadcast that will offer “layers of interactivity that create an immersive experience.”

SpeedWeek will include races usually run at Revival — the RAC TT Celebration for GT cars, the two-driver touring car fight for the St. Mary’s Trophy, F1 races for the Glover Trophy (1960s) and Richmond & Gordon Trophies (1950s), a pre-war Grand Prix race for the Goodwood Trophy and the classic Can-Am vs. GT40 fight for the Whitsun Trophy.

Activities from the Festival of Speed that will take place at SpeedWeek include supercar debuts and new car reveals, and the classic Timed Shootout, taking place on the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit for the first time.
