San Rafael, CA — Classic Sports Racing Group announced in a May 16 email to members that the club’s board has set the annual David Love Vintage Races for July 10-12 at Sonoma Raceway.

The organization also pointed out that whether the event can actually take place will depend on the state and county guidelines in place at the time of the event; both authorities must agree that it’s safe to hold the event.
The club anticipates that guidelines pertaining to July events will be released in late June, so a final ruling on the event will be made at that time. Obviously, if the outlook remains poor, CSRG will have no option other than to cancel, but it is waiving late entry fees for the event. Online registration will open June 12.
Like other clubs across the country, CSRG is developing its protocol regarding COVID-19 preparedness that it will share with members. Among the restrictions already in place are: changes in registration to minimize or eliminate contact; a face mask requirement for everyone on race track grounds; limits on crew size; elimination of Saturday night dinner and also most likely the Mechanical Picnic; no spectators; and the availability of gloves and alcohol-based hand sanitizers in multiple areas.
