Indianapolis, IN — After event promoter Track Enterprises and the ARCA Midwest Tour were forced to admit defeat Tuesday on plans to host their June 13-14 stock car weekend at the Milwaukee Mile, the postponement also took down the Vintage Indy Registry’s Legends at the Mile event sponsored by Hagerty.

The cancellations are part of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services’ ongoing mandate against large gatherings during the coronavirus pandemic, and the historic track is on publicly-owned property in Milwaukee County — which has retained some of the strictest safer-at-home restrictions in Wisconsin after registering nearly half of the state’s positive COVID-19 tests and more than half of its 459 deaths.
The stock car event brought racing back to the State Fair Park oval in West Allis in 2019 after a four-year absence, attracted short-track racers from around the country and drew a crowd of about 8,000 spectators despite iffy weather.
Track Enterprises’ head Bob Sargent said his company would work with the Midwest Tour and State Fair Park to determine if rescheduling would be possible. Sargent said a fall date would be difficult, but he intends for the weekend to return next year.
