The Covid-19 pandemic has claimed two more vintage race weekends, the CSRG Spring in Thunderhill Races, May 15-17 and David Love Vintage Races at Sonoma Raceway, May 29-31.

Sonoma Raceway told CSRG that they might be able to accommodate a June or July event, provided local and state authorities allow it. The CSRG Board felt that, instead of putting its membership in a state of limbo with another postponement conditional upon the authorities approval, it would be best to cancel and consider another date after it is clear they would not be violating any edicts.
CSRG says that it will give would be participants as much advance notice as possible of any proposed event, but it could be as little as two weeks prior to, not surprising considering what is taking place out there.
Thunderhill has no open weekends in June or July, but considering other potential cancellations, something could open up and CSRG would then give as much advance notice as possible and see if there are enough people who want to run.
Everyone’s safety was the main consideration in CSRG’s decision to cancel, and in the coming months hopefully the situation will improve. Those who have entered to date will receive 100% refunds. And CSRG stated that both tracks have done everything possible to work with them and they are more than thankful for that cooperation. Everyone within these organizations are doing everything they can to get racers back on track as soon as it is safe to do so.
