“The Vintage Indy Registry is presently in a holding pattern and awaiting definitive word from World Wide Technology Raceway President and GM Chris Blair regarding both the April 18 Icebreaker Test and August’s IndyCar race weekend — historically held in conjunction with the Bommarito Automotive Group 500, now scheduled for Aug. 30 — along with the development of the track’s revised event schedule.”
“We thank everyone for their patience and promise to provide updates as soon as possible,” Lashmett added. “We’re working with the hope that everyone will be able to enjoy a great test date and another fantastic third annual Open Wheel Icons weekend in St. Louis on Aug. 28-30.”
Currently, the June 13-14 Milwaukee Mile event and the July 25-26 Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix event will proceed as planned. The Bobby Rahal Automotive Group has signed on as the title sponsor for Indy in the Park at the 38th PVGP and Rahal himself is planning to be there with his 1966 Pacesetter Homes AAR Eagle/Ford.
