Sonoma, CA — A 24-car field of Historic Trans Am muscle cars that includes Mustangs, Camaros, Javelins, Firebirds and Cougars will join the on-track lineup for the June 12-14 Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Cup Series event at Sonoma Raceway.

The cars, including a 1968 Sunoco Camaro originally driven by Mark Donohue and a 1970 Dodge Challenger driven by Sam Posey, have been restored to their original condition and are raced by drivers dedicated to honoring the history of this iconic series. The event also offers a Saturday morning Grid Walk and other opportunities to get up-close looks at the cars.
“This is an amazing collection of cars that represents the pedigree of American racing horsepower in the 1960s and ‘70s,” said Steve Page, Sonoma Raceway president and general manager.
The Historic Trans Am Series fills out a full weekend of NASCAR racing at Sonoma Raceway, as drivers from the NASCAR Cup Series and ARCA Menards West Series return to the full, 12-turn road course for the second consecutive year.
