Walworth, WI – Joie Chitwood III will take on a new role Feb. 10 when he joins Mecum Auctions as a Strategic Advisor for the company.

As an experienced and internationally-recognized motorsports leader, Chitwood will lead efforts to evaluate and undertake new ventures and business opportunities as Mecum expands its steadily-growing enterprises.

He is the former president of the Daytona International Speedway, the former president and chief operating officer of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the former manager of administration for the Indy Racing League, and he most recently served as the executive vice president and chief operating officer of the International Speedway Corporation.

Chitwood is known for his consistent record of operating large-scale events, driving revenue and profit growth across the motorsports industry. He holds a bachelor of science in finance from the University of Florida and a master of business administration degree from the University of South Florida.
