Santa Monica, CA — In an announcement last week, Gooding & Company shared details of its first-ever London sale — Passion of a Lifetime — that will be conducted April 1 at the historic Somerset House.

The 16 cars from one of the world’s most revered private collections — and a still unidentified collector — represent some of the finest examples from Aston Martin, Bentley, Bugatti, Lancia, Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce and Vauxhall.

The highest valued car in the group is a 1934 Bugatti Type 59 Sports with a pre-sale estimate in excess of $13 million that was driven by René Dreyfus during the 1934-1935 season as a part of the Bugatti works Grand Prix team. It won at the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa and placed third at the Monaco Grand Prix.
Visitors to the Feb. 5-9 Salon Retromobile in Paris can get a first look at three of the sale’s 16 cars: the Bugatti described above, along with a 1961 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato and a 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV Speciale.
