Indianapolis, IN — The Dec. 12-14 Performance Racing Industry Trade Show at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis — which features more than 1,100 companies showcasing the latest products, services, simulation and testing technologies for all forms of racing — will again address safety, including with seminars from Stand 21.

The show will also feature a screening of the Rapid Response documentary — based on Dr. Stephen Olvey’s book that explores the history of motorsports safety during some of its most fatal years. It follows how racing safety has evolved, giving us today’s safer cars, driver equipment, tracks and medical response. The film also includes candid comments from drivers Mario Andretti, Bobby Unser, Rick Mears and others about the dangers they faced, along with changes they have seen through the decades.

Highlighted are the extraordinary skills of the on-track safety teams and Indianapolis’ Methodist Hospital doctors including Dr. Olvey, former Medical Director of CART and emergency response innovator, and Dr. Terry Trammell, orthopedic surgeon, both of whom are well known for saving the lives of many drivers.

The special limited-seating showing of the film — made possible through the efforts of PRI and the Stand 21 Safety Foundation, in conjunction with the movie’s producers, Roger Hinze and Michael Miles — will take place Dec. 12, at 7:30 p.m., at the nearby Regal UA Circle Centre Theater.
