Hickory Corners, MI — The Gilmore Car Museum has launched a fundraising campaign to add a muscle car museum on its campus.

Architectural renderings recently released show plans for the building to look like a 1970s car dealership. The museum will provide 25,000 square feet of exhibition space, room to display as many as 40 classic muscle cars inside, with space for others to be parked outdoors under the structure’s canopied entrance.
Among the museum’s permanent exhibits is “Born to Perform: The Era of the Muscle Car” in the Larry and Earlene Baum Gallery.
The new building will be located at the south end of the Gilmore campus, just east of the Model A Ford Museum that’s designed in the style of a 1928 Ford dealership.
Plans call for the new muscle car facility to open in 2021.
