Watkins Glen, NY – This year’s Nov. 8-9 Michael R. Argetsinger Symposium on International Motor Racing History will examine the topic of writing motor sport history.

Keynote speaker for the event will be Dr. John Heitmann, author of The Automobile and American Life, and former president of the Society of Automotive Historians. Following his address, Dr. Heitmann and other symposium presenters will participate in a panel discussion.
This unique scholarly symposium — an endeavor of the International Motor Racing Research Center, the Society of Automotive Historians’ International Motor Sports History Section, and the Vehicular Culture Area of the Popular Culture Association — provides an opportunity for scholars, researchers and historical writers to present their work related to the history of automotive competition.
