Learn About Tazio Nuvolari at Sept. 28 Simeone Museum Demo Day

By

Philadelphia, PA — In an extraordinary nine-year career that ended with the outbreak of World War II, Italian racer Tazio Nuvolari claimed victory in 72 major races, including 24 Grands Prix, five Coppa Cianos, two Mille Miglias, two Targa Florios, two RAC Tourist Trophies, a Le Mans 24-hour race, and a European Championship in Grand Prix racing.

Known as The Flying Mantuan, Nuvolari achieved wins in a total of 150 events, but is rarely mentioned in the annals of racing history. At its Sept. 28 Demo Day, the Simeone Museum will explore the life and legacy of one of the most courageous race car drivers to ever get behind the wheel.

As part of the event, the museum will feature the following cars from its collection: 1933 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza; 1926 Bugatti Type 35; 1934 MG K3 Magnette; and 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS.

Doors open at 10 a.m., and the event will run from 11:15 a.m.-2 p.m. Included is a technical learning session, a discussion of the Demo Day cars, a question-and-answer session with Dr. Simeone, a driving demonstration and an opportunity to inspect and photograph the featured cars.
