Vintage Racer Group has seven vintage races planned throughout the Northeast in 2019, including nine features
for Formula Fords, Formula Vee and IMSA/SCCA 2.5-liter Sedans.
The club’s membership continues to grow, and this year’s move to expand production car eligibility to 1989
has brought in a notable number of new members and cars to enjoy VRG’s unmatched track time and reasonable
entry fees. For $400-$450 at most events, partiicipants can enjoy up to 11 track sessions in three days, or races of up to
12 laps at Watkins Glen, for example.
The season kicks off with the Wild Hare Run at Virginia Int’l Raceway April 5-7, a joint event with VDCA.
Its signature event and driver’s school, the Jefferson 500 is May 15-19 at Summit Point, WV. The Vintage Motorsports
Festival is set at Thompson Speedway, CT June 20-22, followed by the Historic Races July 26-28 at New Jersey
Motorsports Park at Milville, NJ. Pitt Race in Wampum, PA will use the full track for the Sept. 6-9 event, followed by
the traditional Watkins Glen, NY races Oct.11-13. The season-ending Turkey Bowl at Summit Point has a tentative
date of Nov. 29-Dec. 1.
Five events will include the popular Royale Formula Ford Challenge Series: VIR, Jefferson 500, NJMP, PittRace
and Watkins Glen. The VeeRG Formula V Challenge Cup will be at the Jefferson 500, NJMP and PittRace, while the
sole IMSA RS/SCCA 2.5L Sedan Series will be at the Jefferson 500. For details, go to: vrgonline.org.
