Formula Ford Making its Popularity Known

By

San Francisco, CA — The Crossflow Cup’s Andrew Wait tells VM that the series — currently in just its second year — has added a Masters Championship due to the popularity of the five-race West Coast series for Historic Formula Fords and Club or Classic Formula Fords.

Mark FF’s 50th anniversary with the Crossflow Cup Championship.

The Masters category runs concurrent to the regular Crossflow Championship and recognizes speed and participation of the top three scoring drivers age 60 and over. Like the regular championship, the points total is a combination of race points scored and appearance points so it rewards Masters drivers who show the endurance to run the available events and perform reasonably well on track.

The recent CSRG Rolling Thunder Spring Races at Thunderhill Raceway Park marked the third race in the series. Next up is SOVREN’s Sept. 8-9 Columbia River Classic at Portland International Raceway.
Wait also said that Formula Ford will be joining the 2019 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, and we’ll share additional details as they’re available.
