Japanese newcomer BH Auction held their first sale last week at the yearly Tokyo Auto Salon. Among the collection were a few examples of Japanese race cars that rarely tend to see the open market.
The first was this 1990 Nissan R90CK that recently ran at the 2016 Le Mans Classic. Some questions surround the history of this specific chassis (whether it is indeed the one that set pole at the 1990 24 Hours of Le Mans) but there is no denying that this is a race-ready machine likely to draw eyes and ears at any vintage event.
The Twin-Turbo DOHC V8 was said to produce 1200ps when tuned for qualifying at Le Mans.
The car sold for 190,300,000 Yen or approximately $1,722,215 USD.
The second was this 2007 Honda NSX Type-R GT. While not quite vintage, this NSX is certainly a track-prepared car and may find its way to vintage racing paddocks in the future.
The car was purchased and built by renowned Honda tuning shop, Spoon, to feature as a demo car and also raced in the Macau Road Sports Challenge.
It features a 3.0 Liter Turbocharged DOHC V6 that puts out 550PS with considerable boost.
It sold for 18,700,000 Yen or approximately $169,235 USD
